Canon EOS 7D - My Dream Come True...

Since 5 years ago when I got my first and only dslr, Canon 350D, I have been thinking when will I hitting limitation on this camera and which model will be able to fully convince me to upgrade from 350D to a newer model. From 400D, 450D, 50D, 500D, and yes, there are lots of WoW factor in these upgrade, but then it still cannot convinced me to upgrade my 350D, since my wishlist such as flash commander, high fps (at least 6fps), weather shield body, magnesium body, full HD video recording, 1.0x magnification and 100% coverage viewfinder is not there.

Well, then Canon come out with the owning upgrade, the full frame 5D and then 5D MkII, yes it can convince me to get it, but the price......=.=", it is totally out of what I can afford. Besides that, I'll need to buy lots of the EF lens to replace all my current EF-S lens which will cost another boom to me. So, this path is definitely unrealistic for me (Well, I can do it in my dream. :P)

Until September 2009, when Canon make a wonderful announcement - 7D. Well, canonrumors did post up a lots of the speculated features in this suspected new model, and to my surprise, this beauty is not a mere upgrade for 50D with some extra features in the firmware and some cosmetic update only, it is a totally new and outclass all the current EOS range model.

The most exciting part is the RRP of 7D, it is stated will be USD1699 which translated to around RM6000.00. It is not cheap, but it is more realistic than the price of 5D MkII.

Below is the photo shown on dpreview, Click on the photo to go to dpreview hands-on preview of the 7D.

Time for me to start saving and prepare to upgrade my 350D to 7D. :P
