EOS 60D Firmware Update Version 1.0.8

Canon has release a new firmware just after around 1 month I have my new toy -> 60D. The new version number is 1.0.8 with the following fixes stated on Canon website:

  1. Fixes a phenomenon in which captured images may become overexposed when using the camera's built-in flash or an external Speedlite in combination with the lenses listed below:*
  2. a) EF300/4 L IS USM b) EF28-135/3.5-5.6 IS USM c) EF75-300/4-5.6 IS USM d) EF100-400/4.5-5.6 L IS USM
Firmware version 1.0.8 is for cameras with Firmware Version 1.0.5. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.0.8, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

As my camera come with firmware version 1.0.5, so I had update it to 1.0.8 as having the latest firmware version in my camera always sounds cool (eventhough I don't own any of the lenses stated in the release). :P

So, if you ask me what kind of changes I can feel after the update -> nothing. :P

Panasonic Suspends LX3 firmware v2.0 update

Just as I happily updated my LX3 firmware v2.0 on the day it is release (28-September-2009), Panasonic announced the suspension of the firmware update after 3 days (01-October-2009).

While this news really give me a heart attack as I had complete the firmware update, I tried to find on Panasonic webpage to check if there is a necessary to downgrade the firmware or not. It is really a relief to me when I saw the official announcement details on their website, it seems like they have only miss out some steps in the firmware update where you'll not get all the new feature without a reset on your LX3.

I have been wondering why I can't find any new features available after the firmware update. So, I follow the steps and voila, every new features are there for me to play around. I'm really eager to try out the 1:1 aspect ratio recording function... Below is the snapshot of the official announcement on Panasonic LX3 official download site.
