Canon EF-S 10-22mm Ultra Wide Angle

It has been a long time since I want to get a UWA (ultra wide angle) lens. The Canon EF-S 10-22um f3.5-4.5 USM has been under my radar for a long time, but have no guts to buy it since it is not cheap.

Until the day when 2 of my fellow darkside friend bought it, it triggers my inner beast and I am brave enough to go for it. Now, it comes to stock shortage problem since this is a popular model for all the Canon APS-C users. I had to wait for 2 weeks before the lens arrived, and so excited when the days come, I actually went to the shop with my wife. (Never thought that I'll be this brave to bring my wife along)

ISO: 100
Exposure: 1/50 sec
Aperture: 3.5
Focal Length: 10mm
Flash Used: No

UWA out of the box and snap on to my 350D with Kenko Pro-1D UV filter, 10mm total shiokness...can see the the barrel distortion is really well controlled.

ISO: 200
Exposure: 1/15 sec
Aperture: 5.6
Focal Length: 16mm

ISO: 200
Exposure: 1/25 sec

I really like the lens performance at 10mm.

Prosumer PnS head to head comparison by PhotoRadar

There has been lots of friends and families asking me about which compact camera to buy, it is always take a long time to explain everything, plus myself bias towards Panasonic Lumix LX3, I think it is best for the professional to have a say on this. There is not a lots of comparison I could find on the web and I think PhotoRadar has did a good job on spilling out the pros and cons of these camera.

Follow the link below to their review (LX3 get 5 stars. :P):

Kuching Trip Day 4 - Tua Pek Kong Temple

The last place we visited before fly back home is the nearest place. :P
The Tua Pek Kong temple is just opposite our hotel, HarborView Hotel. It is believed to be built around 1800 and went through a few round of major renovation from a small hut until today's concrete building.

The entrance to the temple is by the side.
